As the excitement builds, so too does the need to work together to broaden our commitment to literacy. Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 is Read Across Jamaica Day.
This day is an opportunity to donate books, volunteer a little of your time or collaborate with Read Across Jamaica Foundation to sponsor or tour a school during the week.
Read Across Jamaica Foundation encourages corporations, local businesses and individuals to participate on this day and touch the lives of children with the gift of literacy.
Make the Read Across Jamaica pledge and commit to join us as we impact a child, a community and the nation throughout the week.
Our schedule of school visits include:
Monday, 7 May – Cambridge PS, St. James
– St. James Parish Library (afterschool)

Children who read frequently develop stronger reading skills.
- According to the National Education Association, having kids read a lot is one of the crucial components of becoming a good reader. Young readers need to become practiced at recognizing letters and sounds. The only way to get good at it is to practice.1
