100 Books / $100 Campaign

RAJF is asking for donations of 100 books or $100 dollars to assist with shipping containers to Jamaica for Education Week 2016.

Donate books from your bookshelves, vault or our virtual book list.

NAJASO Reads – Community Reading Parties

Members of the community have an opportunity to show their commitment to education by serving as local readers with the NAJASO Reads Project.  Register your site to host a Community Reading Party or plan to join us at one of the following locations:

March 2 – Sacramento, California
Soujourner Truth African American Museam

March 19 – Washington, DC/Maryland; TBA

March 26 – New York/Ft. Lauderdale, FL; TBA

March 28 – Los Angeles, California; Marcus Garvey Elementary School


May 1-7, 2016
Here’s your chance to serve as a Literacy Ambassador during the annual island-wide READ ACROSS JAMAICA bus tour. This year’s tour will include several book authors, visits to 10 schools in 5 days and the opportunity to share the joys of interactive reading.  Our interactive activities will give volunteers an opportunity to expose children to the joy’s of reading.  Help advocate for literacy and join us in placing a higher value on kids reading for fun while enjoying stories that reflect their experience.
